Las Vegas, October 12, 2004 -- (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - CAE SimuFlite continues to pioneer new standards in training that allow instructors to better integrate theoretical knowledge and practical application with the introduction of its new CAE Simfinity products and services. CAE SimuFlite recently introduced the CAE Simfinity 2D Virtual Simulator (VSIM), which is used by the instructor, and the 3D Integrated Procedures Trainer (IPT) into its Citation X pilot training program. On the maintenance side, CAE SimuFlite's Citation X classroom features the CAE Simfinity Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT) with a CAE SimuFlite schematic viewer and virtual photography of the aircraft. In addition, CAE has developed e-learning capabilities leveraging CAE Simfinity that are currently being presented to customers at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, to get market feedback on the delivery and packaging of these services. These new web-based courses will be launched in the coming months and will give pilots the opportunity to train at their own convenience anywhere in the world, complementing the knowledge gained at CAE SimuFlite's training center. All of these innovative capabilities are on display at the CAE booth 8011 at the NBAA convention from October 12 to 14, allowing current and potential CAE customers the opportunity to try them out first-hand. Until now, CAE Simfinity has encompassed a number of training solutions used in both Initial and Recurrent training within CAE training centers. At CAE SimuFlite, it is currently used in training programs for the Gulfstream IV and V, the Boeing Business Jet, Falcon 2000 and most recently, the Citation X. Plans are underway to introduce new courses for the Hawker 800XP and Falcon 900B/EX. "As the CAE Simfinity line of training services evolves, the training curriculum that pilots undergo becomes more operationally oriented, " said Jeff Roberts, CAE's group president for civil simulation and training. "The result is better-prepared pilots who have a more thorough understanding of the aircraft because they were fully immersed in the cockpit environment early in the training process." CAE is a leading provider of simulation technologies and integrated training services for commercial and business aviation, defense, and marine customers worldwide. The company has annual revenues in excess of C$1 billion, with manufacturing operations and training facilities in 19 countries on five continents. # # # |
