Las Vegas, October 11, 2004 -- (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) As part of its global expansion, CAE will open a new business aviation training center in the New York - New Jersey area of the United States. The new center is expected to be operational by summer 2006, when entitlement training will begin for the Falcon 7X business aircraft. In July 2004, CAE was awarded an exclusive contract by Dassault to provide entitlement training for pilots, maintenance personnel and cabin crew for the new Falcon 7X aircraft. CAE will also provide training for the Falcon 900 EX/EASy and 2000 EX/EASy at the center. Initially, the training center will house six full-flight simulators, including a Dassault Falcon 7X, a Falcon 900 EX EASy/2000 EX EASy, and a new Raytheon Beechjet 400A simulator. It will comprise eight simulator bays, with the potential for future expansion. The new center will bring to more than 60 the total number of simulators serving business aircraft operators within CAE's global network of 100+ full-flight simulators. With this expansion, CAE will operate four major business aviation training centers, including Dallas, Dubai - which it operates in conjunction with Emirates Airlines - and the recently announced London-area U.K. center, which is slated for a fall 2006 opening. CAE also offers Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) and Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) training throughout its network. "Giving operators access to a truly global network of training centers so that pilots and maintenance personnel can be trained where it's most convenient to them is one of our main objectives," said Jeff Roberts, CAE's group president for civil simulation and training. A short-list of possible sites for the facility is currently under consideration, and the precise location will be announced later this year. The center will feature modern classrooms and briefing rooms as well as leading-edge concepts in courseware such as the PC-based CAE Simfinity™ suite of training products. CAE is a leading provider of simulation technologies and integrated training services for commercial and business aviation, defense, and marine customers worldwide. The company has annual revenues in excess of C$1 billion, with manufacturing operations and training facilities in 19 countries on five continents. # # # |
