TORONTO, October 3, 2003 -- (NYSE: CGT; TSX: CAE) - CAE SimuFlite and MedAire (Australian Stock Exchange: MDE) have teamed to launch a new Global Operations training program at the National Business Aviation Association trade show. The program is specifically designed to meet the needs of international business aircraft operators and marries the respective expertise of both CAE SimuFlite and MedAire to offer clients in-depth training that will enhance their safety and efficiency. The program draws upon the knowledge of CAE SimuFlite instructors who already provide international aircraft operators with comprehensive instruction on preparing worldwide flight plans and itineraries, obtaining over flight and landing permits, customs procedures and much more. Aircraft operators also benefit from MedAire's extensive experience and expertise in assisting international business travellers in being aware of, and prepared for, the health and security challenges commonly faced by people travelling outside of their home countries. MedAire has been providing preparedness training to the business and general aviation industry since 1986 and through its Global Response Center provides real-time assistance to travellers in foreign countries when they are faced with an emergency situation involving their health or safety. "We're always looking for new ways to better serve our clients and meet their ever-changing needs," said Tom Stelter, CAE SimuFlite's vice-president and general manager. "This training program follows our commitment to help them handle today's international business challenges." The Global Operations course include training classes on standard operating procedures for oceanic flights, flight planning and flight following procedures, personal and aircraft security, global security/situation awareness and managing the health risks associated with international travel. Operators will meet the technical requirements for Minimum Navigation Performance Specification Airspace (MNPSA), Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM), and Reduced Navigational Procedures (RNP-10). "In an industry where so much training is focused on the aircraft and regulations, CAE SimuFlite's Global Operations program puts an emphasis on the personal safety and well-being of the crew themselves," said Joan Sullivan Garrett, MedAire's president and chief executive officer. "The world is changing on a daily basis. As a result, crews not only have to be concerned about safe flight, but about how to stay safe while they are on the ground. CAE SimuFlite's Global Operations program covers it all." MedAire offers fully integrated health and security solutions including remote emergency assistance services, evacuations, training and Web-based education programs, specialized resources such as medical and security kits and a network of international-standard medical clinics in Asia. CAE is a leading provider of integrated training solutions and advanced simulation and controls technologies to civil aviation, military and marine customers. The company generates annual revenues in excess of C$1 billion and employs more than 6,000 people in Canada, the United States and around the globe. CAE SimuFlite will be at booth No. 2339 at the NBAA trade show in Orlando, Florida, Oct. 7–9 and MedAire will be at booth No. 3065. # # # |
