CAE SimuFlite Announces Scholarship Winners

DALLAS/FORT WORTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, TEXAS, March 28, 2003 --

CAE SimuFlite has awarded two aviation training scholarships, in conjunction with Women in Aviation International (WAI). Deborah Ruth Blum of San Francisco, CA, and Nicole Ann Cagnolatti of Long Beach, CA have received scholarships for initial pilot training, and maintenance training, respectively.

The scholarships were announced during the 14th Annual Conference of Women in Aviation International (WAI), held on March 20-22, 2003, in Cincinnati, Ohio. CAE SimuFlite's scholarship program was initiated 17 years ago to promote business aviation as a career choice for young female aviators and aircraft maintainers.

After successfully completing training at CAE SimuFlite's Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport training center this summer, Blum will receive a Citation type rating, while Cagnolatti's scholarship entitles her to attend CAE SimuFlite's initial maintenance training course for the Citation, designed to give maintenance technicians the type specific technical knowledge they need to maintain aircraft in a safe and cost effective manner.

Former scholarship winner Denise Waters, aviation technician and air racing pilot with two consecutive wins in the prestigious transcontinental Air Race Classic to her credit, describes her training at CAE SimuFlite as a significant career boost. Waters, 2001 recipient of the scholarship for Citation maintenance training, said the experience enhanced her skills both as a pilot and aviation technician, a distinct advantage as she pursues careers in both business aviation and in aviation education: "One skill complements the other," she said.

Waters said she had just landed her Twin Comanche in Singapore on the Far East leg of an around the world flight when she learned of the award. "I was very excited and honored to be awarded the CAE SimuFlite scholarship," she said.

Four more recipients of Citation initial pilot training scholarships will be announced by CAE SimuFlite in May, awarded through the University Aviation Association, an alliance of more than 100 accredited colleges and universities.
