CAE SimuFlite Invites Artists to Submit Entries for Annual Exhibition

DALLAS/FORT WORTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Texas, April 25, 2002 --

CAE SimuFlite invites artists to submit entries for the 10th anniversary SimuFlite/Flying magazine Horizons of Flight Aviation Art Exhibition and Competition.

The exhibition will be on display at CAE SimuFlite's DFW training center, DFW Airport, Sept. 30 to Nov. 29, 2002. The exhibition provides excellent exposure for aviation artists. In addition to the general public, the show is seen each week by pilots and maintenance technicians who train at CAE SimuFlite. Flying magazine will feature selected works from the show in its publication.

Original paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media and three-dimensional works representing business, commercial, military and general aviation completed after Jan. 1, 1997 are eligible. Photography and computer-generated images and photolithographic reproductions are ineligible.

Artists must submit 35mm slides of as many as three works by Aug. 7. Three-dimensional works require three slides of each work entered, showing different views. There is no entry fee.

A jury will review the submitted slides and select the works for the exhibition. Accepted artists will be notified by Aug. 30 and the original artwork must arrive at CAE SimuFlite by Sept. 20.

Awards will be determined by an accredited judge. Cash awards will be given to Best of Show and to the work that best depicts a business aviation jet or theme. An award from the Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance will be given to the work that best depicts women in an aviation maintenance setting. Awards of merit will also be given.
