GE Capital SimuFlite has received the first FAA approval for an Internet-delivered
CFR Part 142 course. Those who enroll in "High Altitude Operations for
Pressurized Aircraft" and successfully finish the exit exam can print
a certificate that all CFR Part 142 training organizations will recognize
as a high altitude sign-off.
"The convenience and cost benefit to our clients is tremendous," said
GE Capital SimuFlite president Jeff Roberts. "Clients can now enroll and
take the course at their convenience -- whenever and wherever they choose.
Aircraft operators will see reduced costs when eligible employees take
the course without incurring travel and lodging expenses."
The course prepares a pilot for his or her first type rating in a turboprop
or turbojet aircraft and meets the ground training requirements of 14
CFR 61.31(g)(1). Three one-hour modules make up the course: high altitude
aerodynamics, high altitude physiology and high altitude weather. Candidates
pass the exit exam if they achieve a score of 70% or better.
"High Altitude Operations for Pressurized Aircraft" is open enrollment;
no long-term contract or commitment is required.
The course can be accessed from the main page of SimuFlite's Web site,
http://www.simuflite.com. For additional information, contact SimuFlite
via the site or at (800) 527-2463 (U.S. and Canada) or (972) 456-8000.
