GE Capital SimuFlite has begun its third major expansion of its Dallas/Fort
Worth International Airport training center in six years. The company
has broken ground on a 70,000 sq. ft. north wing that will contain six
simulator bays, additional classrooms and office space. The new wing is
scheduled to be completed mid-2002.
"This expansion is driven by our clients, who have asked us to expand
our product line at DFW," said GE Capital SimuFlite president Jeff Roberts.
"Here we offer a wide mix of aircraft programs while maintaining the industry's
highest standards of training."
The expansion brings the total area at SimuFlite Center to 411,000 sq.
ft. When finished, the entire facility will be able to house 36 simulators:
30 operated by SimuFlite, and six operated by Bombardier Aerospace for
its own training programs.
The wing is designed to allow further expansion with additional simulator
bays, classrooms and support services. For training reservations or additional
