SimuFlite Scholarship Winners Complete Citation Training

DALLAS/FORT WORTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Texas, Sept. 5, 2001 --

Five recent aviation school graduates have received Citation II type ratings after completing training under the SimuFlite scholarship program.

The scholarship recipients are:
• Deak D. Arch, 29, an assistant chief flight instructor for Delta State University, Cleveland, Miss.
• Leslie W. Carlisle, 32, a first officer for Skyway Airlines, Milwaukee.
• Cory N. Lawrence, 22, a flight instructor for Ohio University Albany, Ohio.
• Jyl A. Pepple, 22, a flight instructor for Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Ill.
• Chet M. Waples, 22, a first officer for Corporate Air, Billings, Mont.

Each successfully completed SimuFlite's 14-day Citation II Initial training in August. The scholarships for Arch, Lawrence, Pepple, and Waples were awarded through the University Aviation Association (UAA). Carlisle's scholarship was awarded through Women in Aviation International.

SimuFlite's scholarship program is designed to promote business aviation to young aviators nationwide. SimuFlite awarded five Citation pilot training scholarships and a Citation maintenance training scholarship this year. This is the program's 15th year.

SimuFlite Training International Inc., the business aviation division of GE Capital Aviation Training, provides advanced training to pilots and maintenance professionals operating turbine-powered aircraft in corporate, military and government service.
