SimuFlite Announces Scholarship Winners

DALLAS/FORT WORTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Texas, April 4, 2001 --

SimuFlite Training International Inc. has announced the winners of SimuFlite training scholarships awarded through Women in Aviation International.

Leslie W. Carlisle, Miami, received a Citation initial pilot training scholarship and Denise A. Waters, New York, received a Citation initial maintenance training scholarship. Upon successful completion of training at SimuFlite’s Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport training center this summer, Carlisle will receive a Citation type rating and Waters will receive a certificate of completion. The awards were announced at Women In Aviation’s annual conference last month.

Five more recipients of Citation initial pilot training scholarships will be announced in May. Four will be awarded through the University Aviation Association, an alliance of more than 100 accredited colleges and universities, and one will be awarded through The Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Museum, a non-profit group founded to motivate young African-Americans and assist in their career pursuits. SimuFlite has awarded scholarships in the past 14 years valued at nearly $1 million to promote business aviation as a career choice for young aviators.

SimuFlite Training International Inc., the business aviation division of GE Capital Aviation Training, provides advanced training to pilots and maintenance professionals operating turbine-powered aircraft in corporate, military and government service.
